How is MovePath different from a 3D body scanner?

MovePath assesses the body in motion: joint angles and left–right differences during movements such as shoulder raises and squats, rather than static standing posture.

Until now, posture assessment has meant one of three things: a 3D posture scanner in your centre, an app that measures angles on a single photo, or your trained eye.

Scanners cost a lot and take up floor space. A photo captures one standing moment. It can't show whether the trunk leans as the arm goes up, or whether the knees drift inward at the bottom of a squat. And a trained eye, however good, gives your client no numbers.

MovePath measures joint angles while your client moves. It does not assess standing posture or scoliosis. If you need static posture, use a scanner. If you want to see movement in numbers, one phone is enough.

  1. 1

    Stand the phone up

The app checks the camera height and tilt first. If something's off, the screen tells you what to fix.

  2. 2

    Your client moves

When your client steps into place, a 3-2-1 countdown starts on its own, with voice prompts. No walking back to the phone to press start. Joint tracking runs on the phone itself.

  3. 3

    Send the report

The report is ready the moment the test ends. Send it as a link or save it as a PDF.

11 tests with one phone camera

The six mobility tests are the core set. The five endurance, balance and power tests come with Pro.

Mobility Core 6

  • Shoulder flexionSide view, arm raised forward. Trunk lean and upper-back arching are flagged separately in red.
  • Shoulder abductionFront view, both arms raised to the side, with the left–right difference.
  • Squat (side and front)Knee and hip flexion and depth from the side; how far the knees move inward from the front.
  • Standing forward bendHow many centimetres the fingertips reach below the soles, standing on a step.
  • Straight leg raise (SLR)Lying down, the angle of the raised straight leg, one leg at a time.
  • Lunge ankleShin angle in a knee-forward lunge, one leg at a time.

Muscular endurance Pro

  • 30-second sit-to-standFull stands from a 43 cm chair in 30 seconds.
  • Push-upACSM protocol: maximum continuous reps with good form. Full and knee push-ups are recorded separately.

Power Pro

  • Countermovement jumpJump height, flight time and RSImod, from your phone's slow-motion video.
  • Drop jump RSIStep off a box and jump straight back up: jump height divided by ground contact time.

Shoulder compensation, shown separately

When the arm goes up, trunk lean and upper-back arching are shown in red, apart from the shoulder angle.

Solo mode with voice prompts

Once your client passes the set-up check in place, the 3-2-1 starts on its own. No need to touch the phone.

A one-page report, ready for the consultation

The report is ready the moment the test ends, written so you can read it straight to your client.

Track corrective exercise progress in numbers

A few weeks into a programme, clients ask: "So what's changed?" A feeling is a weak answer. Measure again the same way you did on day one, and the change shows up as a number.

  • Progress cardWhen a result beats the first one, the app makes a card, sized 4:5 and 1:1 for Instagram.
  • Re-test reminder28 days after the last test, the app reminds you.

Frequently asked questions

What is MovePath?

MovePath is an Android app that lets fitness professionals measure how a client moves with one phone camera and turn it into a one-page report. Joints are detected on the phone itself. Clients don't install anything; they receive the report as a link or a PDF.

Can it replace posture assessment equipment?

For movement assessment, one phone does the job. It does not assess standing posture or scoliosis. If you want joint angles while your client raises their arms or squats, use MovePath. If you need static standing posture, use a scanner.

Does it measure standing posture or scoliosis?

No. MovePath measures joint angles during movement only. It was built to put numbers on what a single standing photo can't show.

Can I use MovePath for corrective exercise programmes?

Yes. Use it to record the before and after of your corrective exercise sessions. Re-test a client with the same test and the report shows the change since the previous session. MovePath reminds you to re-test after 28 days and can make a progress card for Instagram. The programme is yours; MovePath measures.

Do my clients need the app?

No. Only trainers use the app. Clients receive the report as a link or a PDF.

When can I use it, and on which phones?

Android comes first, coming soon to Google Play. iPhone follows. Email us for early access and we'll tell you when it opens.

Where are client photos stored?

Only on the trainer's phone. The server receives joint coordinates as numbers, with the face points left blank.

Are the readings the same as a goniometer?

Not exactly. App readings may differ from a goniometer. That's why the app checks camera height and tilt before every test, so each test runs under the same conditions. Use it to compare the same client's first test with today's.

Can it be used for diagnosis?

No. MovePath is not a medical device. It records measurements to guide exercise and is not used for diagnosis.

Can I test without someone to press start?

Yes. Stand the phone up, and when your client steps into place, the 3-2-1 countdown starts on its own, with voice prompts.

Do I need to buy any equipment?

Nothing to install. You need one Android phone and somewhere to stand it. Some tests use a step (standing forward bend), a 43 cm chair (30-second sit-to-stand) or a box (drop jump).

What does the report show?

Joint angles, age- and sex-based reference ranges, left–right differences and the change since the previous test, on a single page. Reference ranges appear for tests where published reference data exist, and shoulder tests show compensation (trunk lean, upper-back arching) separately.

What is Pro?

Pro adds the five endurance, balance and power tests, plus video analysis: peak bar speed, left–right difference and velocity loss in bar path, live bar path, motion analysis, and test video recording and replay. Bar path, mean bar speed and reps are available without Pro. Pro opens after launch, and early access sign-ups hear about it first.
